The Cagayan de Oro City Sister Cities Program

Vision

A city that builds bridges of golden friendship across the globe.

Mission

Cagayan de Oro's Sister CIties Program serves as the platform to foster international understanding, and cultivate friendship in the pursuit of partnerships in trade, economic, and human resource development, culture, and the arts.

Objectives

  1. Strengthen existing alliances and turn them into partnerships in trade, economic, and human resource development, including culture and the arts through trade missions, business-matching, product exhibition, professional, and student exchanges.
  2. Establish new sister city and friendship city ties, and other forms of international alliances with communities where such partnerships shall be mutually and reciprocally beneficial to Cagayan de Oro and the partner city.
  3. Help shape the image of Cagayan de Oro as the City of Golden Friendship

The city establishes partnerships  between and among institutions and business organizations (school-to-school, arts guild-to-arts guild, chamber-to-chamber, port-to-port, hospital-to-hospital, etc.)  through the Sister Cities Committee
