Cagayan de Oro City under the leadership of City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy has been ranked ‘Top 7 Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City’ in the overall ranking of the 2023 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

Rankings are based on the sum of their scores on 5 pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation.
This year, Cagayan de Oro City notched one rank higher as it placed ‘Top 8 Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City’ in the 2022 CMCI overall ranking.
CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.
