City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno and City Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy led a delegation composed of members of the City Council, as well as Department Heads and Chiefs of Office of Cagayan de Oro City Philippines in attending the 100th Anniversary of the Davao Japanese Community.
The 12-day event was highlighted by a Business Conference on 3 October 2019, at the Marco Polo Hotel Davao City , at which Consul General Yoshiaki Miwa of the Consulate General of Japan in Davao invited the Mayor to deliver a 20-minute presentation on the future developments and industrial clusters of Cagayan de Oro, as well as host that evening’s cocktail reception.
Mayor Moreno also served as a panelist in an open forum with fellow guests from the cities of Butuan, General Santos, and Zamboanga, moderated by MANILA BULLETIN columnist John Carlo Borja Tria.
Consul General Miwa thanked the City of Cagayan de Oro for its support and participation and pledged to deepen cultural and economic ties with the city.
