Cagayan de Oro has been ranked as the 7th Most Competitive City in the Philippines in the Highly Urbanized City Category.

The latest rankings were announced during the  7th Regional Competitiveness Summit  held 24 October 2019, at the Reception Hall, Philippine International Convention Center.

The Department of Trade and Industry, through its Competitiveness Bureau recognized LGUs with exemplary performance in the four pillars of the index – Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resiliency.

Cagayan de Oro ranked #2 in Resiliency, #6 in Government Efficiency and #10 in Infrastructure and Economic Dynamism.
