The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is holding a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) today through the SURGE Project (Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth with Equity) for the development and expansion of urban and regional urban development and innovation.

Representatives of academe, LGUs, national governments, business and professional groups who participated in the event shared their knowledge and capacity to make the Urban Development Learning Program (UDLP) a success.

Through the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA-10), the “Regional Perspective of Metropolitan Cagayan de Oro - Sustainable Urban Development” was presented which included the national government programs outlined in the Philippine Development Plan that will support the city's 'metropolization' .

The key details mentioned in the FGD will include the UDLP modules to be offered to local government partners and stakeholders to more effectively implement the said project.

It will be recalled that Mayor Oscar Moreno's administration will continue to work with the public and private sectors to fulfill the city's dream of becoming the fourth metropolitan city in the entire country, with the exception of Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao.
