18 May 2022, Cagayan de Oro City—Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno and Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer (LEIPO) Eileen E. San Juan presented opportunities in Metropolitan Cagayan de Oro and doing business in Cagayan de Oro City, respectively, at the hybrid India Business Roadshow conference co-organized by the Embassy of India in the Philippines with the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber).

The roadshow served as a platform for showcasing Indian enterprises and exploring possible engagements with business prime movers in Cagayan de Oro.

His Excellency Shambhu S. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the Philippines gave the Keynote Address, opening the floor to presentations by eight (8) Indian entrepreneurs, namely:

• Mr. Janardhanan Ramanujalu of SABIC, a fully integrated, global chemicals company

• Mr. Seraj Ahmad of Advanta Seeds, a global seed business that combines the most advanced techniques in conventional plant breeding with biotechnology to deliver world-class seed

• Mr. Girish Ramachandran of Tata Consultancy Services Asia Pacific, a global leader in IT services, consulting & business solutions with a large network of innovation & delivery centers

• Mr. Oman Singh of Hero Future Energies, one of the leading Independent Power Producers

• Mr. Samir Kumar Ghosh of CAPEXIL, the primary chemicals and allied products promotion council in India that provides a range of services to importers and exporters

• Mr. Sanjay Vohra of Transrail Lighting Ltd., a leading infrastructure turnkey solutions provider with a rich pedigree of over three decades and countries to be a preferred EPC partner, Catering to customers across the globe

• Mr. Kallol Mukherjee Head of Aptech Ltd., a leading global career education company, with over 35 years in I.T. education

• Mr. Narendra Sagrolikar of Indofil Philippines, Inc.,  involved in the manufacturing of agrochemical products


Ambassador Kumaran invited the city to, "Please see the embassy as your partner in this effort, to expand a lot of engagement, you will find us ready, willing and available to support businesses in both countries to realize all avenues of cooperation."

28 April 2021, Cagayan de Oro City—In a bid to put itself on the map as a food innovation hub, to connect with potential adopters, and to showcase the uniqueness and abundance of raw materials in Cagayan de Oro and the region, the Northern Mindanao Food Innovation Center (NMFIC) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) today unveiled eight (8) new technologies in a Virtual Food Innovation Showcase.

The event was organized by the university’s Technology Promotions and Commercialization Office (TPCO), in partnership with the Departments of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., and USAID Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE).

Pitched by an all-women crew of food technologists at the landmark event were the following transfer-ready technologies ripe for licensing:
