Cagayan de Oro City | March 2, 2026 — The newly reconstituted Local Investment and Incentives Board (LIIB) formally convened today following the administration of the Oath of Office by City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, Chairperson of the Board, marking the official commencement of the Board’s new term, and reaffirming its commitment to upholding the provisions of the Cagayan de Oro City's Local Investment Incentives Code (LIIC) and promoting responsible, transparent, and strategic investment facilitation in the city.
Present during the ceremony and first meeting were Vice Chairperson Atty. Kenneth O. Tamala, City Legal Officer; Board Members City Councilor George Christopher Q. Goking, Chair of the City Council Committee on Trade and Commerce; City Councilor Yan Lam S. Lim, Chair of the City Council Committee on Ways and Means; Engr. Almarco C. Brito, President of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (ORO CHAMBER); Mr. Efren T. Uy, President of the Misamis Oriental Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (MOFFCCCI); and Mr. John W. Asuncion, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer (LEDIPO).
Following the oath, the Board proceeded with its first meeting, signaling the continued strengthening of the City’s investment governance framework. The LIIB plays a crucial role in evaluating applications for local investment incentives, recommending approvals in accordance with the law, and ensuring that the City maintains a business-enabling environment that supports inclusive economic growth.
Also present during the meeting were Ms. Queritess Q. Queja, Executive Director of ORO CHAMBER, and members of the LIIB Secretariat composed of Cagayan de Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC) staff headed by Assistant LEDIPO Raelita E. Legaspi.
With the Board fully constituted and all members in attendance, the LIIB reaffirmed its shared commitment to transparency, integrity, and sound economic stewardship in advancing Cagayan de Oro’s development agenda.n
