Barangay Carmen, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Raineir Joaquin "Kapkik" Uy, convened a public hearing, yesterday, 30 September 2025, on the proposed development project of EON Development Corporation, represented by Mr. Rey Jadoc, Executive Director of the EON Group of Companies.

The hearing served as a venue to present project details, gather feedback from stakeholders, and address possible concerns related to compliance with local regulations and community welfare.

Present during the activity were members of the Barangay Council of Carmen, together with representatives from the City Engineering Office (CEO), Office of the Building Official (OBO), City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO), City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Cagayan de Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC).

Punong Barangay Uy underscored the importance of public consultation, noting that development must move hand-in-hand with the welfare of Carmen residents.

City offices likewise stressed their role in guiding proponents through a clear and lawful permitting process.

This public hearing highlights the city’s commitment to transparent, participatory, and accountable governance in evaluating major development projects—ensuring progress that benefits both investors and the wider community. n
