The City Government of Cagayan de Oro, through the Cagayan de Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC) and the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD), recently met with the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) to tackle the permitting process for housing and subdivision projects in the city.

The meeting served as an initial step in identifying bottlenecks and exploring reforms to make the approval process more efficient and transparent for developers.

Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer (LEDIPO) and concurrent CHUDD Head John W. Asuncion emphasized that streamlining the process supports the city’s efforts to continuously revisit and improve the ease of doing business as well as address CDO's growing housing demand.

SHDA, for its part, expressed its commitment to work closely with the local government in finding practical solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

This dialogue marks the start of a series of engagements with stakeholders and City Hall offices to create a more enabling environment for the housing sector. n
