30 July 2025--Cagayan de Oro City. The City Government of Cagayan de Oro today welcomed a Japanese delegation led by Hinode Sangyo Co., Ltd., with the Original Engineering Consultants (OEC) Co., Ltd., and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Hinode Sangyo, a Japanese environmental engineering firm specializing in wastewater treatment is developing and deploying its system for Cagayan de Oro's oldest public market in Cogon, Barangay 31, this city, which will serve as demonstration site for the company's patented technology.

This inaugural engagement in Cogon highlights opportunities for the application of Japanese technology to real urban challenges in the city and heralds the beginning of possible partnerships and opportunities for the application of the system in local industries.

Part of the five-day visit facilitated by the Cagayan de Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC), are meetings with City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, the City Economic Enterprise and Business Development Administration (CEEBDA), and the City-Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO), as well as site visits to local hotels, and some locators in the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate (PIE).

This connection of Japanese technology providers with local government and enterprises aligns with regional development and sustainability strategies and supports the city government's and local industries' commitment to meeting evolving environmental standards.n
