The Marian Exhibit is now open to the public as part of the ongoing SAULOG Art Exhibition at the City Museum and Heritage Studies Center in celebration of National Arts Month. This exhibit features various Marian images created by the late local artist Pennesencio "Nonoy" Estarte.
This Marian Exhibition adds to the previously opened art collection from February, which also showcases works by Nonoy Estarte.
During the opening, Archbishop Emeritus Antonio Ladesma and Archbishop Jose Cabantan expressed their joy over the program in the city, especially as it coincided with the beginning of Holy Week.
City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, representing Mayor Rolando Klarex Uy, noted that Estarte's works depicting the image of the Virgin Mary demonstrate the profound devotion of the Kagay-anon people, particularly to the Virgin of Cotta.
He also appreciated the archdiocese for lending the artworks to be displayed for the public.
The SAULOG Art Exhibit is supported by the local government of Cagayan de Oro, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Kagay-an Misamis (KaMi) Creative Council.
According to Oro-TIPC head John W. Asuncion, the overseer of the City Museum and Heritage Studies Center, the art exhibit will be open until April 30 of this year.
