Cagayan de Oro City has successfully concluded the conduct of the city level search for the Young Artists and Authors Showcase with a total of 192 students from 12 public and 12 private secondary schools in Cagayan de Oro participating in the competition. By April 01, 2022, ET in the United States, 30 entries were submitted to Sister Cities International by the students themselves whose works made it to the Best Five in the six categories of the showcase.

YAAS 2022 has given the students in Cagayan de Oro the opportunity to creatively express their thoughts on climate change, specifically how their generation can work towards sustainable water for all, as well as the beautiful experience of joining in an international competition.
