At 10:00am on May 27, 2021 Cagayan de Oro City launched SBIR, now accessible to everyone at https://smallbizcdo.ph.
Mayor Oscar Moreno said in his opening remarks that this comes at a time when there is a compelling need to ensure that our small and medium enterprises are given assistance and support. He said projects such as the SBIR are like vaccines. Where vaccines are to protect our people from the virus, projects such as the SBIR are like vaccines to protect our people from economic dislocation.
OroChamber President and SMEDC Chair Ruben Vegafria giving the closing remarks said a portal such as SBIR has long been a dream of many LGUs. And so the launch today is not just a dream come true but a milestone and an achievement worthy of celebration for the business community who through this portal will be provided a reliable flow of information in many forms.
Dubbed as the gateway to localized information and resources for MSMEs, SBIR is a project of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Ginamâ Entrepreneurial Development Center supported by USAID/SURGE-Women Global Development Project initiative.
