Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy of Cagayan de Oro launched a public service caravan called "Klarex nga Serbisyo," which aims to provide essential services to the city residents, particularly those living in remote barangays. This initiative highlights the administration's commitment to bringing much-needed assistance closer to the people, addressing the challenges posed by geographic isolation and limited access to resources.
The caravan features the participation of all city hall officers, who are expected to work together in delivering various public services to the people. By doing so, Mayor Uy hopes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the city government in addressing the needs of its constituents.
Aside from offering essential services, the city government also provided opportunities for the people to learn new skills and livelihood opportunities.
The Trade and Investment Promotions Center offered trainings on bag and bamboo crafts making with resource persons Vivian Libao, owner of Puyo Handicrafts, which makes handicrafts bags and Teodulfo Quijada, president of BAMBUSA, an organization of experts who are bamboo enthusiasts, envisions to provide sustainable marketing channels to farmers and processors, support industry, augment income, and encourage planting bamboos to mitigate climate change. These workshops provided the residents with valuable knowledge and skills to generate income and potentially improve their quality of life.
Overall, "Klarex nga Serbisyo" is an excellent example of a public service program that focuses on meeting the needs of the people and promoting their welfare. By providing essential services and skills training, Mayor Uy's administration is empowering the residents of Cagayan de Oro to improve their lives and contribute to the development of their communities.
